An Aesthetic Residential Campus at Savar

The main purpose of the Residential Semester is to help imbue discipline, develop independence and a sense of responsibility in students through the environment and curriculum.
Of the many extraordinary attributes the university holds, the Residential Semester at Savar is one of the best. While being far from the congestion and pollution of the city, the campus is laced with greenery, thus making it one of the best places anyone can stay at for physical and mental rejuvenation.
The campus has many resources, alongside furnished dormitories and classrooms. There are separate dormitories for boys and girls at TARC, which are quite comfortable, include every facility from water heaters in bathrooms to closets and cupboards. Support staff and dorm tutors ensure complete security of the dorms. The compound contains huge green fields along with a huge hall for seminars and events, dining areas, computer labs with access to educational material and a library. The place also has an emergency medical center and counseling facilities for students who require these.
The Residential Semester has a strong focus on academic work and many measures are taken in order to ensure that students accommodate the best study habits while performing well scholastically. Classrooms are equipped in order to enable learning in the best possible way. The Residential Campus is an English speaking zone and students must use English in order to communicate with teachers and peers at all times. If students face any trouble while studying they can always meet their respective course teachers during consultation hours outside class time to get support to academic work.

The Residential Semester curriculum, together with the well equipped
campus gives equal importance to Experiential Learning Activities that develop students’ social skills. These activities include on and off-campus initiatives such as Social Learning Labs, study tours, institution and organization visits, co-curricular activities and village immersion programs.
Besides studying, students are involved in many other extracurricular activities at TARC. They are required to take up an RS activity such as cooking, sketching, photography, community service, mediation, learning a new language and the like. A reading competition organized by the British Council takes place throughout the semester and at the end, the winners are declared based on quiz results and prizes are given to them.
While helping students explore their areas of interest, these activities also nurture them in diverse ways together with improving their social skills. Based on their achievements and conduct, the best performers are given Vice Chancellor certificates. A semester spent at TARC is thus one full of self-developing experiences, learning and great memories to cherish lifelong.

Co-curricular Activities and Community Involvement

BRAC University places equal importance to the development of social skills and realization of responsibility towards the society, besides creating the best environment for academic excellence. There are quite a few clubs in BRAC University, operating under the guidance and supervision of the Office of Co-curricular Activities. These clubs are devoted to assist students identify and develop their areas of interest and talents while improving their leadership skills. Clubs are a model of the corporate world and help students understand the culture of professional life through the environment that the clubs create.
While giving students such important experiences, club activities are always a great source of enjoyment and rejuvenation to balance out any stress or academic pressure that is normal in student life. Clubs are often involved in community work in order to help the underprivileged. While it helps develop more confidence and rich personalities, clubs are also responsible for letting students realize the strength of unity and bonding and enjoy philanthropy.  At the end of the day these small things are aspects which add meaningfully to the youth years, so that when the Alumni look back at their past, they know they have done things worth remembering.
